Octopuses...Octopi?

It's about time folks started realizing the only thing that made The Little Mermaid worth watching was Ursula.

I first started noticing this trend when I bought this octopus bracelet for my sister for Mother's Day... (The same sister who used to do an awesome Ursula impression when we were kids.)

Anyway, it seems our eight-armed friend is popping up in all sorts of home decor items.

Pink & Green Thursday: Happy St. Patty's Day!

Happy Saint Patrick's Day, my lovelies! What better way to celebrate St. Patty's day on Pink and Green Thursday, but with a little alcohol? After all, isn't that what makes March 17, one of the best days to be Irish? And we're all Irish today!

Call Me!

Phones today are so boring.  Sure, they have some pretty nifty features, but appearance wise they're blah.  Phones from days gone by were gorgeous.  I think it would be hard to not feel completely fabulous while talking on one of these beauties...

Vintage Rotary Phone at Anthropologie

I'll never give up my cell phone.  However, I think someone needs to invent a phone that looks like one of the above, but with a slot that I can stick my cell phone in when I'm at home and accept calls like I'm back in the 70s.  (Kind of like they've done with iPods and all the speaker/radio connections you can get with them.)

Pink & Green Thursday: Waiting for Spring

I took a 2 month hiatus from this blog, but now I'm ready to get back to it.  I thought I would start with a great post I found over on Pink Preppy Lilly Lover via Blonde Episodes.

I am just so ready for winter to be over.  I can't wait for the flowers to start blooming and for the outside to turn green once more.  I have this vision that one day I will have fresh flowers, every day, in pretty vases in every room of my house.

One For the Dogs

We got a new dog: a Mastiff.  She's huge and she's only seven months old, so she's just going to get bigger.  The crate we bought for her is monstrous as well.  I so do love those end/side table crates for dogs, but if we bought one of those for her size, it would have to be a dining table dog crate.

Or if you're feeling fiesty, This Old House has an excellent tutorial on how to make your own dog crate table.

Where do you keep your pup?  Does he have a kickass end table pad?

The Book Belongs To...

I want to have a library someday.  Maybe not a gigantic library, but one entire wall, floor to ceiling, covered with books would suffice.

I want to have to climb a ladder to reach my books that are way up high...

(And they're only $11,000!)

I want to lounge in these chairs as I enjoy one of my many books...

And I want all my books marked, so everyone knows who this fabulous collection of literature (including my Gone With The Wind books) belongs to...

What would you want in your library?

Blue and Green Decor

I have found the decor website of my dreams: Just Blue and Green.

The name pretty much sums it up.

You know how in the magazines every room in the house is a perfect flow of color and pros talk about finding your color palette for your house?  Well, mine's blue and green.

(Before I go any further I just want to say that I am not cheating on the color pink.  Pink is still the best color to have ever been created.  If I could I would live in a pink Barbie house with pink everything.  Well, maybe not everything, but I would want to be on the verge of it looking like a flying pink hippo threw up in my house.

That being said, I'm married.  As much as I want to do that to myself I would never do that to my husband.  He pretty much lets me decorate however I want, but he would put his foot down to flying pink hippo throw up.)

Here are some of the super cute items Just Blue and Green has found just for my dream house...

What are your favorite colors to decorate with?
